This article outlines the steps needed to update the HDR-EX-70-2PS firmware.
🛑 STOP: Before proceeding - Make sure you have the HDR-EX-70-2PS. If you have the UHD-EX-70-2PS proceed to this article.
Note: The process will be the same for both the TX and the RX
Download and Extract
Step 1: Download and run the AT-HDR-EX-2PS Analyzer.exe file. The software comes with a ConnectorTool.dll file. The DLL file must exist in the same folder as the executable in order for the software to run.
Step 2: Download the FW from our website: AT-HDR-EX-70-2PS
Step 3: Extract the firmware from the archive file to the Windows desktop or other folder
Configure the Unit
Step 4: Disconnect power from the unit
Note: Make sure there are no lights illuminated on the device
Step 5: Set the DIP switch, on the bottom of the unit, to the UNIT position
Connect to a PC
Step 6: Connect a USB mini to USB-A cable from the FW port on the unit to the computer with the FW file
Note: You do not need to reconnect power, the USB cable will supply power for the FW update
Step 7: Launch the AT-HDR-EX-70-2PS Analyzer software
Step 8: Select the proper COM port from the drop down list
Note: If there is no COM port available in the list, navigate to Device Manager, select ports
You should see a USB to Serial adapter under ports. If there is an exclamation point next to this adapter, right click the device and click update drivers. Otherwise, the driver can be downloaded here. Install the USB to serial driver and reboot your computer.
Upload the Firmware
Step 9: Click the Browse button within the AT-HDR-EX-70-2PS Analyzer software. The Open file dialog box will be displayed. Select the proper firmware file for the connected device.
Step 10: Click the Open button on the dialog box
Step 11: Click the LOAD button, within the Analyzer software, to begin the firmware update procedure. The progress bar should progress while updating.
Note: If you see boot connect failed, repeat steps 4-8.
Step 12: Once the upgrade process is complete, disconnect the USB cable, set the DIP switch back to the HDBaseT position, then reconnect power
Note: The DIP switch, on the bottom of the transmitter and receiver, must be set to HDBaseT to resume normal operation
Step 13: Repeat steps 4-12 for the remaining devices in your system
