Subject: Not getting any audio after learning EDID from a projector
Explanation:
HDMI enabled displays/projectors ensure they get their optimal picture/audio by sending out “EDID” information to any source device that’s connected to them. This EDID information eventually makes its way to sources which then cater their output signal to meet the requirements of the display/projector.
Since some projectors/displays don’t have built-in speakers, their EDID may only request video (no audio information). Thus, if you learn EDID from a sink device (projector/display) who’s EDID does not request audio, you may find that installing the Atlona product with a different model display causes audio not to be heard.
To overcome this, you can either use the internal EDID function of the RON or perform an EDID learn by following the steps in this article.
