Description: How to use and interpret the HDBT tester in the package 16 firmware

Explanation:

Please note, to use this function, your matrix will need to be on package 16 firmware (or later). Please see this article for information on how to find firmware for your device. 

1.Go to the HDBT Test tab in the web GUI of the matrix, select an output and start the test

(Note) You must have a source routed to the output for the test to be valid

Results Explanation

HDBT Link - Verifying the HDBT link is viable and connected

HDMI 5v - Verifying the 5 volt event that occurs when HDMI is connected

HPD - Verifying the Hot Plug Detect occurs when the 5volt event occurs

TMDS Clock - Displays the source clock speed and verifies that a source is routed to the output tested

Cable length - shows an estimated cable length

Video Quality – Shows the level of signal quality (if BER is lower than -14db the cable has failed testing)

Cable quality pair A - Displays pass or failure for the Blue Twisted pair – 568A protocol

Cable quality pair B - Displays pass or failure for the Orange Twisted pair – 568A protocol

Cable quality pair C - Displays pass or failure for the Green Twisted pair – 568A protocol

Cable quality pair D - Displays pass or failure for the Brown Twisted pair – 568A protocol
