KB01319 - Is it OK to use a 30+ ft HDMI over fiber cable with Atlona products?

SKU: Any Atlona product with HDMI inputs/outputs

Subject: Is it OK to use a 30+ ft HDMI over fiber cable with Atlona products?

Explanation

For optimal performance, Atlona follows the guidelines set by HDMI.org and does not recommend using any HDMI cables over 15ft for 4k and over 30ft for 1080p. Cables with built in amplification chipsets are also not recommended to be used on the output of HDBaseT devices.

Fiber HDMI's are often best for point to point installation and can cause handshake issues in a multipoint system

We recommend using extenders to extend HDMI signal over the distance mentioned above
