KB01063 - Do Atlona extenders work well with directional HDMI cables?

SKUs: AT-UHD-EX-70-2PS, AT-UHD-EX-70-KIT, AT-UHD-EX-70C-KIT, AT-UHD-EX-100CE-KIT, AT-UHD-EX-100CEA-KIT, AT-UHD-EX-70-RX, AT-UHD-EX-70C-RX, AT-UHD-EX-100CE-RX, AT-UHD-EX-100CE-RX-PSK

Atlona does not recommend using directional HDMI cables on the output side of HDMI over CAT extenders. While directional HDMI cables can be used on the input side of an extender, using directional cables on the output can cause issues with video stability and performance. Atlona recommends using standard HDMI cables with a minimum of 28 AWG thickness.

Directional HDMI cables can be identified by labels/stickers that specify what each end of the cable should connect to (i.e. “To Source” or “TV Side” will imply a directional cable).

Please note, the above is true for all Atlona HDBaseT extenders.
