KB01183 - Can the RS232 port be used to pass RS232 commands from the TX to the RX or vice versa on the AT-HDVS-200?

SKU: AT-HDVS-200 Series

Subject: Can the RS232 port be used to pass RS232 commands from the TX to the RX or vice versa?

Solution: The RS232 port on the HDVS-200-TX, TX-WP and RX is only used for local (console) control of the HDVS-200 units. This lets you adjust settings on the unit by sending it various RS232 commands that are found in the user’s manual.

This port cannot be used to send RS232 commands from say the TX to the RX or vice versa. If you require the ability to send RS232 commands, please note the HDVS-200-TX and HDVS-200-TX-WP units can send RS232 via HDBaseT to the 200-RX which can then be used to output those commands to a display. You also have the ability to send TCP/IP and CEC commands.
