Subject: AMS Error: During the startup of the AMS server, it freezes on the message “Starting PostgreSQL Server”.

Troubleshooting:

AT-SW-AMS can run on another machine at this location thus confirming there is no firewall/anti-virus blocking access.

Steps:

This error is caused by an issue with the AMS software starting the PostgreSQL server which is needed to create the database. This may be caused by a firewall or DLL files (dynamic-link library) missing or being corrupted.

To resolve the issue:

  1. Check the firewall on the machine running AMS. Either turn it off (preferred) or allow the PostgreSQL access.
  2. Download and install the appropriate DLL’s. For 32-bit machines, try link 1 If problem persists, try link 2. For 64-bit machines, try link 3. If the problem continues, try link 4.
